Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and now based in Miami, Florida, he has dedicated his life to the craft of songwriting, performance, and production. His musical journey began in Miami, where he first honed his skills as a songwriter and performer, expanding his creative reach. Over the years, Balmelli has produced and performed in multiple projects, most notably as the sole songwriter, composer, and lead singer of the alternative band EmptyBox. His work with the band drew industry attention, and he was later approached by Sony Music, who expressed interest in signing him as a solo artist. Ultimately, a difference in musical direction prevented the deal from moving forward, but the experience reinforced his commitment to pursuing his own creative vision.
Following the group’s run, Balmelli launched his solo project, continuing to explore new sounds and deliver music that bridges cultures and genres. Drawing inspiration from artists such as David Bowie, Gustavo Cerati, The Cure, and Radiohead, he blends alternative rock textures with Latin sensibilities, cinematic atmospheres, and introspective lyrics.
